Itinerary 2 Nights in Naples

If you have decided to stay 2 nights in Naples, after the city tour we suggest you spend a day in archeology, the flagship of cultural heritage in Naples and the entire country. We start as usual from central station of Naples " possibly early in the morning ... "and then by train Circumvesuviana towards Sorrento, approximately within 20 minutes Herculaneum. (See the schedule). Herculaneum is a small coastal town in Ontario, halfway on the road connecting the coast to Naples and Pompeii towns of Nocera, Stabia and Sorrento.
The town was submerged by a river of volcanic mud - ashes mixed with water - fast and hot that solidification phenomenon brought about a completely original and without conservation of comparisons to Pompeii finds, organic (vegetables, textiles, furniture and parts of buildings wood) but the upper floors of the dwellings and with them a precise idea of the volumes and construction techniques, allowing us to reconstruct the history of the Roman house through nearly three centuries, from the second century BC to the eruption of 79. The visit to the city began the entrance portal on Corso Resina, where we have the first view of Herculaneum from above: it jumps off the regularity of the urban with decumani that run parallel to the shoreline and the hinges, perpendicular them, that define batch settlement called insulae. The view from above can also have an image of the whole city with its monuments and religious, the beautiful mansions, the homes of ordinary people and the places where they carry out activities of daily living.
After visiting Ercolano you can go back to the station of Torre, took the train towards Sorrento and get off at Pompei Scavi Villa dei Misteri. Pompeii is the only archaeological site in the world able to show the appearance of an ancient Roman town in its entirety. Rich in traffic and pulsing with life, the city was crystallized as the famous eruption in 79 AD, during which a shower of ash and lapilli wrapped everything: homes, residents, roads, public buildings and objects of everyday life. Everything came as a "locked" in a terrible instant.  A catastrophe, a cataclysm which has the merit, however, have allowed exceptional preservation of the city and its treasures: the urban plan, the monumental buildings, public and religious, beautiful houses decorated with world-famous mosaics and wall paintings, the places where they perform tasks of daily life. With its 44 hectares of area excavated, Pompeii is one of the most famous and visited archaeological sites in the world, with over two million visitors a year. After visiting the archaeological site and eaten a good meal, return to the circumvesuviana towards Naples, exit at the Naples train station and head towards the underground Line 2. Catch the train towards Pozzuoli and exit at the first stop Piazza Cavour, here conclude the itinerary visiting the Archaeological Museum National Archaeological museum is among the first in Europe. Nb The museum is accessible directly from the Metro station.
